Melville-Knox Christian School

As a congregation we were glad to present a Commemorative Edition of the Authorised (King James) Bible to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, to all the pupils of Melville-Knox Christian School, Glasgow, at an assembly on Tuesday 9 May 2023.

During the presentation the minister highlighted three points.

1. What is the Bible?  The Bible is a collection of 66 books comprising of 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New.  It is the only book that God has given to mankind.

2. What is the message of the Bible?  All the 66 books in the Bible have a common theme; they speak of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Old Testament speaks of the Saviour who was to come, and the New Testament tells of the coming of Christ and the establishing of the Christian Church.

3. How to read the Bible.  Read it prayerfully asking that God would speak to you as you read.  Read it consecutively, morning and evening, and perhaps begin by reading Mark’s gospel.  And read it continuously, even when you might find it difficult.  Persevere and you’ll find your biblical knowledge will increase over time..
